Project Introduction Heading

Splunk’s Data Stream Processor (DSP) was designed to feel like a fresh departure from the dense, form-driven interfaces common in enterprise data tools. From the designer’s perspective, the goal was to visualize real-time data flow as a living system — using a node-based canvas where users could drag, connect, and transform data streams intuitively. Instead of endless tables and dialogs, the UI emphasized clarity, flow, and spatial reasoning: glowing pipelines, contextual menus, and smooth transitions that made complex event processing feel approachable and even creative. The result was a modern, visual programming environment that balanced Splunk’s analytical power with a design language focused on immediacy, transparency, and a sense of control.
